Whitney Houston sends his daughter in rehab

Whitney Houston would have sent his daughter in rehab. I must say it does very badly to see pictures of her darling snorting cocaine in the media ...
The pop diva has decided to regain control over his daughter and put it back on the right path. A friend of Whitney Houston has even told the National Enquirer: "Whitney was devastated at the sight of photographs showing Krissi consuming cocaine, and reading the story of his friends."
The source continues, explaining how the decision was made: "A family reunion took place and she confessed to her daughter with tears in his voice: 'I do not want to lose you' (...) When she called the father of Krissi, Bobby Brown, he immediately agreed to send their daughter into treatment. They then made the tough decisions such as withholding the convertible she had for her 17 years ".

Today, parents of Bobbi Kristina try somehow to unite to protect and care for their daughter, but the task seems to be very difficult. The same source said: "Bobby and Whitney are pointing at each other, but in fact they are both responsible for this sad situation. Bobby recalled his ex-wife that she had consumed drugs in their home for years, giving a very bad example for their daughter and Whitney, meanwhile, reminded Bobby that he had also taken drugs and had filled in a lot more problems than it had never been. "
The bottom line is that today the young woman's parents have realized the great danger that their daughter 18 years would incur.

Retro Action, March 17, 1990: Houston, We Have A Donation: Whitney and Friends Raise Millions For AIDS

Whitney hasn't had it easy over the years. Not only has the Queen Diva's famously rocky marriage and battle with drug addiction kept her from the limelight, even worse, they've taken a toll . Better to remember when. Back in 1990, when she was known simply as "The Voice," the pop icon headlined the That's What Friends Are For: Arista Records 15th Anniversary Concert at Radio City Music Hall, raising over $2.5 million for various AIDS organizations. The concert teamed Houston with "That's What Friends Are For" singer Dionne Warwick. The cousins were joined on stage by Carly Simon, Barry Manilow, Hall & Oates, and Air Supply, along with Hollywood stars Chevy Chase, Whoopi Goldberg, and Michael Douglas. "You have to be granite not to want to help people with AIDS, because the devastation that it causes is so painful to see. I was so hurt to see my friend die with such agony," said Warwick. "I am tired of hurting and it does hurt." Despite the high profile of its stars and historic venue, the event was unable to find a single corporate sponsor an indication, perhaps, of just how necessary it was. ''You're going into millions of homes,'' said Katherine DeShaw of Gay Men's Health Crisis, one of the beneficiaries. ''Maybe a kid seeing Whitney Houston sing on an AIDS benefit will think, 'If Whitney thinks it's cool to stop the AIDS epidemic, I do, too.'"

Houston Hits Underscore Bodyguard Musical???

Plans are progressing with the planned musical adaptation of The Bodyguard, the 1992 film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner. Producer David Ian – whose most recent screen-to-stager was Flashdance, which toured extensively and then had a run this past autumn at the West End’s Shaftesbury Theatre – has secured the rights and will soon start looking for his leading lady, with the aim of bringing it into the West End in 2012.

The Bodyguard, which marked Houston’s acting debut, centred on the relationship between music superstar Rachel Marron (Houston) and her bodyguard Frank Farmer (Costner), a former Secret Service agent who is hired to protect her from a stalker. The stage production is likely to feature additional music from the film as well as other songs from Houston’s back catalogue. The most awarded female artist of all time, according to the Guinness Book of Records (and Wikipedia), Houston’s hits in the 1980s and 90s included “You Give Good Love”, “Saving All My Love for You”, “How Will I Know”, “Greatest Love of All”, “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”. However, her career was derailed by a trouble marriage to rapper Bobby Brown, drug addiction allegations, a rocky world comeback tour and other personal struggles.
